A Very Generous Offer!
I had a big laugh when I received this letter from Discover Card in the mail today. They have graciously decided to lower my interest rate to a mere 26.24%!! Woo hoo, I think I'll go and charge my credit card to the limit! And what, you may ask, merits me this favor? Why, it's my excellent payment history over the last several months, of course! In fact, for the last several months, I've paid the FULL BALANCE every month, on time! Oh yeah, the balance has been ZERO for those past several months. I guess they are missing my business since I took it elsewhere when they raised the interest to the usurious default rate of 29.99% after I missed the payment due date a time or two.
But 26.24% sounds mighty enticing. Lemme think about that a moment.
